    Today, 1 question was answered.

Does this construction fit inside the tank?

    The answer.

We can keep the roots seperated from the rocks, until they've had their final layer of epoxy. Then, we can use aqua-silicones and glue them on the rocks.

So, this answers that problem. But, there are more...

Let's not think too much about them, today.

And, enjoy the view of our tree inside the tank.

it is good that after all that work so far it does fit in the tank, that would have sucked if it didn't.

We knew all along that the rocks fitted in the aquarium. Eddy (Tim's dad) told us so, when he looked at the rocks and the whole in the top of the tank. So, we were at ease, regarding that chapter. The only thing we didn't know, was whether the rocks + the roots fitted in the tank. So, if it didn't fit, there was nothing lost. In that case, we glued the rocks first in the aquarium en then the roots on top of them. But, for sure, it is more practical to glue the roots at the rocks, when they're still outside the tank... I thank you very much, RBrown, for your compliment! Click here to enlarge

Well, the progress of the roots has been a bit slow, this week. That's because there were other matters, requiering my attentrion. These matters are not over yet, but a first step to get out of the difficulties is taken. So, I can invest again more of my time in the background. Click here to enlarge

This was my work, when I rose this afternoon.

We've already used that much of plaster casters.

The plastic container (?) with water is completely covered by plaster.

I wanted to make a number of 'small tents' to mask the sudden changes of diameter of used flexible tube, where necessary.

You make a small tent like this. With filter-cotton and plaster.

The first small tent is made. I prepare the second.

    And, the third.

After that I see to it that the whole of our roots is completely covered by plaster. On this picture, it's still not the case.

    The result.

The first two small tents. The first one is succeeded, according to me. The second clearly not. But, this fault won't be noticed when you look at the BG as a whole.

The third one is succeeded, too.

Thanks a lot for your comment, Divinehammer! Click here to enlarge

Yeah, cats are really fond of boxes. As you saw, so is mine. And, Ayla who's dancing around the box. It's very fortunate that they like each other as they do. But, Ayla is raised with a cat in my home, so I guess that solves already a lot. Click here to enlarge

Thank you for your compliment! Alright, I admit, you can already see their structure. And, in your mind's eye, you can see them painted. But, it's only when we dress the roots up (just like the rest of the BG) with natural products, that your roots (background) become really alive... At least, according to me... Click here to enlarge

Today, there is no progress to report in the build of the background. But, the weather was splendid, Tim wanted to try out his new wheelchair on a longer distance for the first time, I wanted to know how my new battery was holding up and we needed ropes for our background. So, we left for HUBO and AVA.

As I've said, I'll blow up some pictures untill the size of 50x70 cm. I have three walls, so that means 11 photos.

Yeah, Tim's wheelchair is doing what Tim expects! But, don't underestimate mine old horses... I ride on them for more than 8 years... And, they're still working without uttering one complaint... And, that's a lot more than Tim can say... Click here to enlarge

Bert comes directly from his work. That's the reason he's always a bit stressed. But, what he showed us yesterday, truelly was amazing. As you all can see, Bert is on his way to the balcony.

Yeah, Ayla had a nice evening. We all did, actually... Click here to enlarge

Should it have been a pie..? Click here to enlarge

Yeah, Tim has a very nice, little tank with beautiful but small fish. It's a tank like mine, where many hands make light work... Click here to enlarge

It's looking good, now... It will only look better in the future... It only depends in how much work (= time) you're willing to put in making of your BG... And, as you might have noticed, I'm a very patient man... Click here to enlarge

Well, good for you! Click here to enlarge

But, you'll have to admit, in the beginning you encounter a bit of a problem, in order to do it with one hand... Click here to enlarge

I never had a chance to close zip straps in the dark. However, the idea sounds so appealing to me, that I start at it tonight... Click here to enlarge

Yeah, cats are funny that way, aren't they..? Click here to enlarge
