Yeah. And I just got an email from rapid saying they are going to refund me the difference for the new heat sink and the as in one. Plus I have 24 brand new optics that I will be returning. So, between the refund and returning the optics which is $30 I will only be spending about $60 on the LEDs.

Sweet man Click here to enlarge Its looking good.

Maybe after I get my big tank up and running this summer I may take the 55 or 40b and attempt a Salt water build. First though I need to get the big tank built, running, and fish ready before I start any more Aquarium projects. I still worry about power outages though as they can last 8 hours plus some times and we get them 2-3 times a year in the winter.

I tested the water again myself at arounf 7am and it was reading below 100ppm. The patch of cyano I had that was dark pink just less than 24 hours ago is much much lighter and looks like it is decreasing in size. This might have something to do with the skimmer cup being filled filled with dark green skimmate.

Both test were performed with API kits. Both kits are less than 3 months old.

I stopped using API kits. I got tired of them being off. I spring for the Salifert kits now even though they cost 5x as much.

drs foster carries them now too. Although at the high range the api kits are probably fine. I've just had trouble getting accurate readings on the low end. I think checker might have a nitrate test kit now too.

    ULTIMATE DIY HANDBOOK
Haven't really posted in awhile. Have gotten a few new things for the tank. Bought a Gfo reactor and I love it. LEDs are about a week from being done. Also picked a few new corals, 3 are SPS so we'll see how they last, a buddy of mine is letting me borrow is diy led light until I get mine done so tomorrow I should have that over the tank. New corals are blue/green blasto(LPS) Pink birdsnest, green birdsnest and a red cap monti. Had a huge nitrate spike, supposedly but, not sure how my frogspawn was able to grow and start splitting through a huge nitrate spike.
