    New Stand

Finally got the stand in place. It's not completely done. I need to try and realign the doors, they are slightly off. And I'm going to add a plywood base for the sump to sit on. I'm not great at staining wood so it's a little bit uneven, but I'm happy with it.

I didn't like the look of the face boards with a straight cut on the end as the board in the back is, so I put a chamfer on them like the one closer towards the camera.

It mostly together with the doors just sort of set in place:

Everything put together,. You can see how misaligned the doors are. They still open and close nicely. Maybe once everything is up and running I might go back and line them up. Or I might just end up being lazy and leave it.

The stand with the tank on it. It looks like there is a huge gap in the door. But that's cause the door is cracked open. I need to install some hasps to keep them closed.

Looks good from what I can see, to align the doors figure how much they are off top to bottom swing and move hinge by loosing to get adjustment should bring them in line.
Life and Attitude are a choice the real question is are you making a Good One.

Great Job! I'm beginning to get back into the hobby now that I'm learning how to DIY because I hate unreasonable mark ups and making people rich off my money. I really like how you have trimmed up the frame it looks awesome and stronger than anything you could buy Click here to enlarge

Can you post a picture of the inside with the doors on? I'm trying to make a stand with a similar look. Thanks!

Sorry about the poor quality of the pics. I had a lab exam after work today and then had to work on my car and replace a bunch of worn out gaskets which means I was way too lazy to pull out the SLR.

    Anyways, hope these help:

Looks good I'm attempting my first stand did you do 45 degree cuts for the top and bottom frames? I did that as well, just got all the wood cut. Looking for some more free time to finish the build.

The only plywood is where the sump sits.

Yeah, I mitered the corners. Its stronger that way because you can have the screws holding in both directions

Wow, I'm impressed. I'm in the middle of a stand build myself, (this is my First Post so hello everyone) and came looking for ideas, as I am about to "wrap" mine. Honestly, I wasn't too keen on the stain, UNTIL, I saw it in place. Great job! If mine comes out half as good I'll be happy.
